If you haven’t already signed up, don’t forget that we have a great launch offer on our ‘Kettlebell Instructor’ and ‘Fit 2 box’ courses which will save you £50 if you book the two courses on consecutive days. Hurry though, check out the details on our website today because once the places have gone the offer will have to end.

summer of sport

Summer of sport is good for business

Four weeks of international football, a fortnight of Wimbledon, cricket, athletics, we’re even starting to get excited about the 2012 Olympics. Has there ever been a more positive environment to boost the health and fitness sector? Ok, we know the country is still struggling to come out of recession and generally it looks bleak on the jobs front, however, it seems that in the midst of the doom and gloom, many people want to take control of whatever they can and their fitness is something that they can influence. Consequently, the fitness industry has far more going for it than most and jobs, it seems, are to be found in all areas of the industry right across the country.

Good news then for wannabe personal trainers and gym instructors. Even if you are considering a complete change from your existing career you can qualify in a matter of weeks, studying whilst still in your current job if you wish. This is an attractive option for many of our students says Bob Ellis, MD of Focus Training,

“Our courses are completed through a combination of supported home study and workshops. For many people this is the only way that they could consider training for a new career. We have an incredible pass rate and that is partly down to the importance we place on providing our students with the support that they need. They are not on their own and it works really well.”

Also fuelling the need for fitness professionals is the Government’s obsession with the state of the nation’s health and its investment in the wellbeing of our over-indulgent nation. The fitness sector is the key to the prevention rather than cure strategy and will play a crucial role in helping to bring down the NHS bill in the future.

So, the message is simple, whatever your age, whatever your background, if you are interested in health and fitness, considering making a career of it may be the best move you ever make.

Here are 5 tips to shift your thinking so that you can feel very confident about charging and being rewarded for the valuable work you do.

TIP #1      Get Clear On Your Value

It doesn’t matter how long you’ve been qualified or how much experience you have as a PT, you still have the ability to provide value for your clients. It is very easy to forget how valuable the knowledge and expertise you have is for your clients simply because you are so familiar with what you know. Just because you know it doesn’t mean your clients do.
