So, you’re considering becoming a Personal Trainer and weighing up whether a career in the fast-paced fitness industry is for you. At Focus Training, we’ve coached and produced some of the UK’s most successful fitness professionals, who having taken the plunge to become a Personal Trainer, have never looked back!
So, if you’re still in two minds as to get on the train or stay at the station, a few perks of the personal trainer that might whet your (well balanced!) appetite…
Out of The Office
Forget cramped cubicles and overflowing paper-filled desks. As a Personal Trainer, the world is your oyster as far as your office goes. You can work in a gym, in the park, at home or at the beach if the British weather is in your favour!
For some Personal Trainers, a working day can be over and done in 5 hours. You have the flexibility to not only work when you want, but as much as you want, in order to make a living that suits your lifestyle!
Personal Trainers are usually paid very well by the hour, with some Personal Trainers in London earning up to £120 an hour. Again, you have the ability to choose how much you want to earn, and how much you charge for your time.
See The Sights
Experienced Personal Trainers travel all over the world, often to some of the most niche areas such as Barbados, Miami beach gyms and New York. For those with the drive to succeed, travel opportunities are a plenty!
Keep In Shape
One of our past students said, “there’s no better job than being paid to stay in shape!” As a personal trainer, you’ll have plenty of time to keep up your fitness levels. If you are working in a gym you can workout between clients or you can workout with your clients during their sessions.
As a freelance personal trainer you have no boss, no-one to answer to and the flexibility to do things your way. Many personal trainers find that this allows them more creativity in marketing their services and adding value to clients.
Forget The Dress Code
No need for pinstripe suits, co-ordinated office accessories or bulging briefcases! Wear what you like, every day! (Which is usually your most comfortable gear!)
If you love to be sociable and mix and mingle with new people, then a personal trainer is the job for you. Not only will you get the opportunity to talk all day to your clients, but networking will expand your opportunities to bring on new business. (Which means, more money! Just for talking!)
